Evolution is a work app made by 3VOtech LLC (“3VOtech”, “we”) for the technicians and project managers who install and maintain equipment in hotels. This policy explains what the Evolution apps for iPhone and Android, and this website, collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Who can use Evolution

Anyone can download Evolution, but it only works with an account 3VOtech issues for work on our projects. Evolution is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

What we collect, and why

Your account

Your name, email address and the projects you are assigned to. 3VOtech creates the account; the app uses it to sign you in and to show who worked on each room.

The work you record

What you enter while working: room and task details, notes, serial numbers and MAC addresses you type or scan, the photos you take, and when a room was checked in and completed. When you scan a barcode, a picture of the label is kept as proof of the scan. This is the job record, and it is shared with 3VOtech and the people managing the project.

Camera

Evolution uses the camera to read room numbers, QR codes and barcodes, and to take photos of your work. Only the photos and scans you save are kept. Photos are stored inside the app, not in your photo library, until they upload.

Location

Only while you are using the app, and only when a feature needs it: when you check in to a room, to confirm the work was done on site. Evolution never tracks your location in the background, and it asks for permission before using it the first time.

Microphone

Only when you choose to record audio or video of your work. Evolution asks for permission first.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, your phone gives Evolution a push token so we can send you job updates. Evolution does not request one until a feature uses notifications.

Diagnostics

To find and fix problems we use Sentry, which receives crash reports, error details, performance data, your device model and operating system, and the app version. For some sessions, and when an error happens, it also receives a replay of the screens you visited, with all text and images masked, so no content you entered is visible in it.

Usage

Expo Insights tells us how many devices have the app installed and which versions they run, so we know when an update has reached everyone.

This website

evolutionapp.tech sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or ads. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes the request logs any website produces in order to deliver and protect it.

How we use it

To run the app: sign you in, sync your work, and show the project’s progress.
To keep an accurate record of the work done for our clients.
To find and fix bugs, and to make the app faster and more reliable.
To contact you about your account or the projects you work on.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Who we share it with

Our clients and project managers, who see the job record for their projects.
Service providers that run parts of Evolution for us under contract: hosting, Sentry (diagnostics), Expo (app updates and install counts), Apple and Google (notifications), and Cloudflare (this website and our network). They may use it only to provide their service to us.
When the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our people, our clients or the public.

How long we keep it

The job record is kept as long as our contract with the client requires, because it is the record of the work. Diagnostics are deleted automatically after 90 days. When an account is closed, we delete or anonymize its personal information unless we must keep it by law or for an active project’s record.

Security

Information travels over encrypted connections, and access to it is limited to the people who need it. Work saved on your phone stays in the app’s own storage until it uploads.

Your choices and rights

You can refuse or withdraw the camera, location, microphone and notification permissions in your phone’s settings at any time. The features that need them stop working; the rest of the app does not.
You can ask for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its personal information. Email support@evolutionapp.tech from the address on your account. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the CCPA. We honor them, and we will not treat you differently for using them.

Changes

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect, we tell you in the app before it takes effect.
